Clinical hypnotherapy is a state of relaxation, a doorway to changing habits, patterns, unwanted behaviours. It is an easy, safe, and highly effective method for deep change
Daydreaming, zoning out, are all the same type of conscious experience as hypnosis. The difference with hypnotherapy is we create the state intentionally together and add in positive suggestions for your specific goal to take hold.
Hypnosis (also known as a trance state) can be described by some as feeling like a normal waking state only very relaxed, others can describe it as being a bit more like a feeling closer to sleep.
It really is a gentle relaxing experience, all you have to do is listen and allow your mind to do the work for a change.
Hypnosis allows you to access your subconscious mind. It is here where you can undo the motivation behind what is triggering your unwanted behaviour. And as a result of this, you can re-programme using positive suggestions allowing you to achieve the new, desired outcome you are wanting.
You will always be aware of what I am saying and furthermore you are fully in control at all times. Clinical hypnosis is very different from stage hypnosis. On stage it is used to entertain…. need I say more?!? Think about what sort of shows have the biggest audiences, the ones with the most drama, be it shocking, funny or extreme. This kind of thing sells right!? So please remember this…
During a clinical hypnosis session we practitioners are here to help, guide and allow you to become the best version of you in the most comfortable and safe way that fits best with who you are, what you believe and value coming together to allow for the greatest of changes. You are always safe 🙂

What to expect
During your initial consultation we will discuss your issues, your goals and your expectations. Perhaps we will do this in person in Dorset, or online. I will ask questions to gain a better understanding of your needs. We will then discuss how clinical hypnosis works and what you can expect. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. I will then guide you to a wonderful state of deep relaxation and you can enjoy your first full hypnotherapy session.
My hypnotherapy practice is based in Dorset, and online. Whether we work together in person or online, the process is the same. People who are unsure of the online approach, yet have had no choice due to Covid restrictions, have been very pleasantly surprised, and even more at ease in the comfort of their own home. All you need is a comfortable seat and to make sure you wont be disturbed.
How many sessions will I need?
Hypnotherapy is ‘therapy,’ this means it will usually take more than 1 session.
Initial consultations are reinforced by subsequent sessions that allow for a full in depth review of how the presenting issue (or issues) have improved since your last session.
